What Should I Wear?
We recommend that you wear long pants and closed-toe shoes for the ride. Boots are best, but any closed-toe shoe will work! If you are 18 years of age or older and you are planning to decline the use of a helmet, you may choose to wear a hat that is securely fastened on your head.
What if I Have Never Ridden?
We WELCOME first-time riders and consider it a unique privilege to lead you on your first horseback experience! Your guide will lead you in a short demonstration before the ride to provide all the necessary basics of riding so that you feel confident to ride independently. Should the need arise, your guide is prepared to step in to provide any assistance you may need. Our horses are used to having first-time riders on them and are very well-trained. They are specifically chosen for this task based on their experience and gentle personalities. Please keep in mind that our rides are in open country and thus subject to external forces such as hikers, mountain & e-bikes, cows, birds, etc.
What about Helmets?
Helmets are provided and required for anyone under the age of 18 years. We strongly encourage the use of helmets for anyone over 18, but they are not required.
What Can I Bring on the Horse?
We recommend that you bring a water bottle on your ride. Phones, cameras, jackets, and crossbody bags are welcome as long as they are properly secured so they do not flap around the horse. We can provide small saddlebags to secure any individual items (e.g. phone, keys) you don't feel comfortable leaving in your car, in case you would prefer not to bring a bag.
Can Two People Share a Horse?
No, for the safety of rider and horse, we do not allow horse sharing.
Do I Need to Pre-pay?
No payment is required to secure your ride! You will need to pay before arrival if you would prefer to pay via Venmo, as the service in the trail staging area is limited and we may be unable to receive and process online payments. But if you are paying cash, we can take care of payment after the ride. We just ask that you would be considerate of your trail guide and our horses that are trailered out and tacked up for your individual group and honor your reservation. If you need to cancel, reschedule, or change the number of riders, please notify us no later than 24 hours in advance.
What Forms of Payment Are Accepted?
We currently accept cash only if you are paying after your ride as due to limited service at the trail staging area, we are unable to process online payments at the trail. You are, however, welcome to pay before arrival via Venmo (@integritystablesjulian)!
